Alpine Flowers Tour

This is an 8-day tour exploring some iconic subalpine and alpine mountain location in the Canterbury section of the Southern Alps. Many factors make the Alpine Flowers tour is an enjoyable experience - small group size (maximum of 6), keen and interested participants, outstanding scenery, a knowledgeable guide and not too great a distance to travel each day. Comfort, good food make for a relaxing experience.

 

Itinerary at a glance

 

A wide variety of national and conservation parks are visited:

·     Aoraki Mt Cook National Park  - part of the Te Wahipounamu - South West New Zealand World Heritage site.

·     Mt Hutt Conservation area (a mecca for alpine plant enthusiasts)

·     Hakatere Conservation Park

·     Castle Hill/Kura Tawhiti Conservation Area

·     Korowai Torlesse Tussocklands Park

·     Arthur’s Pass National Park

 

Site Details

 

Day 1 – Pick up in Christchurch from 10.00 am, Mt Hutt, accommodation at Staveley

Day 2 – Hakatere Conservation Park, second night at Staveley

Day 3, 4 Aoraki Mt Cook National Park, accommodation at Mt Cook Village

Day 5 – Aoraki Mt Cook National Park, accommodation at Staveley

Day 6   Korowai Torlesse Tussocklands Park, Arthur's Pass National Park. Accommodation at Arthur’s Pass Village

Day 7 – Arthur’s Pass National Park, Accommodation at Arthur’s Pass Village

Day 8 -  Arthur’s Pass National Park, Castle Hill / Kura Tawhiti /Conservation Area, return to Christchurch by 3.00 pm.

All meals are provided.

At Staveley, accommodation in Ross Cottage and Mountain Beech Lodge.

Lodge accommodation at Mt Cook Village

Motel accommodation at Arthur’s Pass

Doubles, twin rooms and some singles (single requests may not always be able to be met).
