Walking time  A number of walks during the day from 10 to 30 minutes each.

Walking distance Depends on tracks chosen, weather, fitness and interest levels.

Track Dobson Nature Trail, Temple Basin Track, Upper Otira Valley Track, Punchbowl Falls Track.

Highlights Endemic New Zealand alpine plants including alpine (Mt Cook) buttercup, mountain daisies, ground orchids, gentians and many others.  Birdwatching - South Island robin, rifleman, bellbird, fantail, tomtit, kea, rock wren. Outstanding mountain scenery, waterfalls & mountain streams, Otira River, permanent snow and ice fields.
