Tussock & Beech Ecotours Objectives:
We aim to conduct nature tours which will allow participants to:
- Gain an understanding of the ecological qualities of New Zealand
New Zealand has a diverse and dynamic landscape and a distinctive fauna and flora which has adapted to survive in a challenging environment
- Increase their environmental awareness
Our nature tours venture into some special areas of wilderness where you will learn about the natural environment. But that is only half the story - we will feel we have been successful if your resolve towards conservation of the environment is strengthened.
- Enjoy themselves
You are on holiday to enjoy yourselves. The nature tours attract friendly, interesting people. The landscape is inspiring, the food is delicious and the accommodation is comfortable and different.
Contribute towards conservation
For every client who joins a nature tour we make a contribution towards the Mt Somers Walkway Society. This local voluntary organisation maintains and develops this popular track.

"Men call me a fool for wasting my life in mountain solitudes, but if in doing so I have found nothing new in thought or worth giving to the world, I have at least gathered glimmerings of truth as to how nature works"
Charlie Douglas, 1890's
